World Waterpark Association
URL: http://www.waterparks.com/BeWaterAware.aspThe World Waterpark Association (WWA) and Amanda Beard have teamed up to raise awareness of water safety and responsible sun exposure through a series of public service announcements (PSAs) including "Be Water Aware" and "Sun Safety."
Drowning is the 2nd leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1-14. Amanda wants to remind everyone that the best thing anyone can do to stay safe in and around the water is to learn to swim. This includes both adults and children.
The WWA is an international organization representing over 1,000 waterparks in 40 countries worldwide and is dedicated to furthering safety in the water-leisure industry.
Via their website at http://www.waterparks.com, Amanda and the WWA have a developed a detailed checklist of items to keep in mind to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience in and around the water and while taking advantage of the fun outdoors. The key take away is to: "Be water aware! Know how to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies."
Join Amanda and the WWA in making sure that you and your family have a great (yet responsible) time in the sun and water!
